1. FC Cologne
1. FC Köln – also affectionately known as Effzeh by fans – is noticeably different and yet authentic: a club with peculiarities, rough edges and rough edges, where the billy goat is just as much a part of it as the Rhenish carnival. The FC draws this authenticity from its history, its values, but especially from its origins and roots in Cologne and the region. That just fits STAHLWERK. We are therefore pleased to be taking the next steps together with Effzeh. The successful cooperation of the past will not only be continued, but will be further expanded: True to our motto “STAHLWERK welds together”, we will be the exclusive partner of 1. FC Köln from the 2022/23 season and therefore one of the Billy Goats’ largest sponsors. With this, STAHLWERK would like to set an example and underline the development of the reliable partnership.
The FC is one of the most respected sports clubs in Germany and looks back on a past rich in tradition. The founding member of the Bundesliga has three German championships and four DFB Cup victories to its name. Numerous national players were trained by the cathedral townspeople. The football club is considered one of the most popular in the league, and its home games are regularly sold out. The atmosphere in the stadium is unique and is as well-known as it is popular beyond the Rhineland. That's what the FC anthem says: "Uvverall jitt et fans von FC Kölle" and that's not an exaggeration: the club currently has well over 120,000 members, almost half of whom come from Cologne and the surrounding area. There are 909 FC fan clubs in Germany, but fans have also joined forces in Belgium, England, Spain and even in Canada, Costa Rica, Brazil and Nigeria.
FC St Pauli
For the 2022/23 season, FC St. Pauli will receive support from the Rhineland. STAHLWERK supports the friendly team from the north as a so-called “captain” – a business partnership for sponsors. In keeping with the fan friendship between St. Pauli and 1. FC Köln, STAHLWERK is presenting itself as a firm supporter of the neighborhood club from Hamburg for the new season. The club, known as the “World Cup winner,” is particularly notable for its exceptional fan culture; the official fan flag resembles a pirate flag. Whether it's the opening music "Hells Bells" by AC/DC or the classic "You'll never walk alone" - the atmosphere in the stadium and the fans' choreographies are considered unique in Germany and there are also numerous sympathizers beyond the borders.
The club is considered cosmopolitan, idealistic and rebellious. Values such as tolerance, helpfulness and sustainability are not just words, but are also lived in St. Pauli. True to the motto “There is nothing good unless you do it!” The association is committed to many social and social issues. Regional anchoring plays a key role here. Anyone who has experienced the atmosphere at home games will understand why the club has over 5 million fans in Germany alone. It is not without irony that the club itself likes to describe itself as the “favorite second club”. We are pleased to be able to accompany St. Pauli on its journey and wish the team much success!
Bonn SC
Bonn is not only known as the former seat of government and the birthplace of Beethoven. Sport is also very important in the city, which has more than 325,000 inhabitants. In addition to basketball, it is primarily football that attracts large numbers of spectators to the stadium every weekend. The Bonner SC is probably the most famous football club in the city, and its founding caused great euphoria at the time. He has been inspiring people in the city and neighboring communities since 1965. The team, also known as the “Rhine Lions”, fights week after week for sporting success with great passion and a lot of heart. Numerous fans remain loyal to the club. The club colors are blue and red according to the old Bonn city coat of arms.
The club experienced glory times in the 70s of the last century. In 1976 they were promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga. But the success didn't last long - the DFB revoked the club's license the following season. After turbulent times with many ups and downs, the team is currently playing in the Regionalliga West. One of the greatest successes, in addition to several championships won at amateur level and staying in the 2nd Bundesliga, is the victory in the Middle Rhine Cup in 2016. Not to forget the win of the German championship in women's football in 1975. In order to be able to build on the successful times in sport in the future, STAHLWERK supports the Rhine Lions as the main sponsor.
